New Products From Anttron®

| This is the
latest CB base station antenna to compete with the A-99. Dubbed the
TNT, for the twist n tune type of SWR matching device, this 10 &
11 Meter antenna looks similar to the A-99. Comparing the two
antennas, one thing missing from the specification sheet of the TNT
is 17 - 10 meter coverage with an antenna tuner. It will cover 10
& 11 meters. Maybe this sacrifice gives it it's 10.9 dB gain as
compared to the A-99s 9.9 dB gain. Of course, the gain over a 1/4
wave dipole is probably 3dB for the A-99 and somewhere closer to 4dB
for the TNT. These numbers games started many years ago in the CB
marketplace to give one company the edge over another, confusing the
buyer because true gain was not quite understood by most
consumers. The reputable companies suffered until they were forced
to use the same rating formulas to achieve an equivalent gain figure
to the competition.

Anttron® 1700 Mobile Antenna
|
| This antenna isn't exactly new, it is new
to many CBers because very few dealers carry this model. The color
choices are red, white, blue and black. My installation man used
this on his car until he sold the car. Having a problem keeping his
Wilson 2000s, he decided to replace the Wilson with a more economical
antenna that wouldn't be as desirable from a thief's standpoint. To
his pleasant surprise, the 1700 performed very well, he really
couldn't tell a difference in performance. At the $19.95 price he
could loose three 1700 for every 2000 antenna. The Anttron®
1700 never was stolen, no one knew what it was, making it worthless
in the stolen market.

| I know...I know, it's not a
CB antenna. I won't spend much time on this one. There are CB
operators that have their ticket thought.
Not to long ago a customer was looking for a 6 meter base station
antenna. Had I known of this one, I would have been able to help.
